It was a great experience in this place, the staff was friendly and helpful, we stayed un a deluxe room full sea view, the service was amazing, special thanks for Mr. Rafik who arranged everything for us and made everything easier in our plan, we will back in next year
Set in Naama bay this beach and spa resort is about 20 mins from the airport , its self contained with its own beach and diving centre, with a spa treatment and gym facilities. This isn’t our first holiday to this hotel in fact we’ve been here about 7 times since 2014. We had a break because of Covid and explored other destinations but returning to sharm el sheik we decided to return to this lovely hotel as we wanted familiarity. Their were positives and some negatives and I will in turn breakdown my review the best I can for those wanting to try this hotel for the first time. The staff here are the hotels biggest asset , a wonderful collection of people that go that extra step to ensure your stay is enjoyable and the best it can be , from bar staff ( bysh) to pool guys ( Nabil ) Restaurant guys ( too many to mention but in particular Mlad ) You will soon find yourself enjoying their company and coming away with new friends on Facebook etc. The hotel sits on a big complex with a main building and a set of villas which sit seperate to the main building but is connected with walkways and wonderful gardens with sea views. It does cater for those with mobility issues as well , we saw a few mobility scooters when we stayed and it’s an access all areas policy so thought has gone into this aspect. The hotel lobby is impressive and was first designed I believe by the wife of the owner of the hotel chain ( Stella ) who was Italian and she prided herself on its marbled floor and ornate wooden decor. The lifts are glass sided so you ascend and descend the 8 floors looking out at the view and the ground floor is a fish pond with koi carp so it’s quite a lavish set up which makes you feel you are staying in a luxurious location. Our room this time was a beach fronted sea view villa room. A tad on the small side our room was ground floor with its own balcony as they all have in the villas , two story high villas that set aside from the main building but you don’t feel isolated. The room comes with a double bed , fridge ( fully stocked which is free to all inclusive customers) iron / ironing board / safe / and of course en-suite shower room with toilet. A code safe in the wardrobe locks valuables away but tbh the cleaners here are very trustworthy and one day I accidentally left my expensive watch on the side but it wasn’t touched , the staff here are very genuine and work very hard to gain your trust and respect. Food You won’t have any issues finding food to consume in this hotel , it caters for everyone’s taste and is continental cuisine allows you to try different food you wouldn’t normally eat in the uk. Cooked fresh and displayed beautifully the food is wonderful. The all inclusive package allows plenty of opportunities to indulge with free ice cream and pastries on offer and it’s generous serving times allows you plenty of opportunity to eat when you want and not when the hotel wants you to eat. A special mention also to the late night dinning that opens from 10pm to 11:30pm something my wife and I indulged in a couple of times , again all free in the all inclusive package. All alcohol is local so don’t expect a gamma of selection you will be disappointed the wine and beer are drinkable but it does start to get boring after a while , we mixed it up with your standard cocktails and mixers etc but some will argue that not enough choice when it comes to the luxury brands , not being a big drinker it didn’t bother me too much. Two main pools - one on the same floor as the main restaurant with a swim up pool bar and sun beds and tables and chairs , the other set on the next level down with a seperate kids section , Animation team is a lovely group of girls who do their best to drum up support and interest in the days activities , all very beautiful and speak a number of languages , puts us brits to shame really. ( in the language dept I mean ) Snorkelling Is done on a platform a short walk from the beach and the corals offer such spectacular fish life that its worth investing in your own snorkelling kit as my wife and I did , if you want to dive the resort has its own diving school so you won’t be disappointed on that front. Spa and beauty treatments are available , my wife and I endulged in a package , be a bit wary here the guy selling the packages is lovely but he’s a salesman after all , barter is the key word here and don’t accept the first price he will and come down in price we paid £320 for 3 treatments each one lasting 120mins ( being pampered etc the other just massages 50 mins long ) If I was being honest we could have got it cheaper but he came down from £500 but it’s all done with a smile and is part of the experience. The masseuses are excellent and we had a lovely experience. Shops selling everything from everyday items , to snorkelling stuff to beach wear, knock off designer stuff , clothing , watches , jewellery is on the basement level is a nicer experience , this is Egypt after all , haggle and barter the guys are friendly and do it with a smile a cheeky wink , certainly don’t accept their first price but be respectful they have to make a living and the environment is safe , I’d rather do that than walk down naama bay high street being dragged in , sat down , forced to drink tea and end up buying a carpet you never wanted. It’s an experience shopping in Egypt and anyone who has done it will know what I mean. The hotel lays on entertainment in the evening , Britains got talent it’s not ! Tbh the entertainment was really poor quality and in the past it’s been excellent but this year it was woeful. One poor guy was so bad he didn’t come back after his break , I thought it was karaoke night it was that bad dancers were average and one creepy act where this guy was dancing with these school girls looked decidedly creepy. In the late night bar the musician here was talented and played gentle piano music while you sipped on cocktails etc. A few negatives - we are able to recognise some changes over the years as I said this was about the 7th or 8th time we stayed here. The decor in the rooms and possibly the main dining hall could do with a revamp. The wood used is dark and you can start to see the shine and polish that used to be evident when we started our Stella Di mare journey just fading, I’m being highly critical I know but I have an eye for this and things like glass not cleaned and skirting boards chipped and scuffed in time will start to degrade this beautiful hotel , the cleaners and maintenance guys do a sterling job but I think it’s time they started to change the decor colour to light and airy , some of the tiles in the bathroom have black grout lines it’s starting to show it’s age is all I’m trying to say. One particular thing that I thought was unnecessary was the cleaner leaving his cleaning trolley in the lobby of our villa entrance , also a spare bed against the wall , it ruined the look and tbh a hotel that size shouldn’t be leaving equipment for holiday makers to look at everytime you go in and out your villa. Bbq equipment on the top pool area used for the nightly bbq pushed to the side did look messy , I get it they have to put it somewhere but maybe cover it up ?
We often vacation in Sharm El Sheikh with my wife, and have been to many hotels. This hotel is now number one on our personal rating. There is an excellent, diverse thematic cuisine here. We couldn't try everything in 10 days, we didn't even make reservations at A la carte. The staff is very attentive, there are many waiters, we never had to wait in line at the bar, everything is brought very quickly. The beach is big, there are enough sunbeds for everyone. Rif is alive, rich. Free shuttles run to Naama in the evening.
