The location is great — not too far from the front, although it’s a little further to walk into the centre. It’s ideal if you’re after a quieter area, with plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and cafés nearby. The staff were so helpful and informative. I asked for extra pillows and they were brought up almost immediately. Our electricity tripped during our stay and they came and fixed it straight away. There were some activities on throughout the day, but it was definitely more chilled, which we preferred. The hotel itself was spotless. Our room was clean and a good size, with a nice-sized bathroom. We were topped up with fresh towels even on days when we didn’t want a full room clean. There was also a fridge in the room and a hairdryer — although it was about as useful as a chocolate teapot, but that was expected! The only downside with the room was that there was no kettle. You can hire one from reception, though, so it wasn’t a huge issue. We didn’t use the pool as it rained for most of our stay, but it looked clean. There were as many sunbeds as they could physically fit into the area, although I’m not sure how quickly they would fill up in good weather. The pool also didn’t open until 10am, which I found a little disappointing. Our only real issue was the food. We paid for half board but only ate dinner there on our first night, as unfortunately the food was freezing cold apart from the meat. We did have breakfast most mornings. I opted for a ‘full English’ on our first morning, but everything was cold, so for the rest of the week I stuck to toast and pastries. None of the ‘hot’ food is kept under a heat source, so unless you get it as it’s being served, it’s cold. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean, the staff were fantastic and the quieter atmosphere suited us perfectly. The food was the main disappointment, but aside from that, we had a lovely stay. I’d stay here again although would probably opt out of paying for a food option, there’s plenty of fairly priced places near by.
Our 2nd visit to this hotel and we won’t be back. Location is good not far from the beach. Our room was very cramped with very little storage and 6 coat hangers on a makeshift rack on the wall: no wardrobe. No coffee making facilities. The smell of sewage in the bathroom was disgusting. What little space there was in the room was taken up by a fold up bed presumably for a third person! All cooked food in the restaurant was cold and there were flies around the food particularly around the desserts. The staff struggled with table clearing when it was busy although they were always pleasant. The area around the pool bar was often dirty. The cleaning staff were always busy around the hotel and the room cleaners did a good job. Bar service was slow at times but that was due to there only being one person serving. Overall I would say it’s not a 4* hotel. We like Salou so if we go back would be looking for somewhere else to stay.
Definately not a 4 star. Rooms are small no storage for clothes 6 hangers and 2 drawers. No tea and coffee facilities in room. Pool area small and dirty, was a horrible smell throughout hotel like sewage we were room only so never ate in hotel. Reception staff really nice and helpful but bar staff very rude bought 2 drinks never went back because of their attitude. Lots of places near by for drinks, food and coffee.
